HangZhou Jianghe Hydro-Electric Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (Jianghe Hydro-Electric) is affiliated to the Hangzhou Machinery Design Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources. It is engaged in water conservancy and hydropower construction machinery, hydropower equipment research and development, design, manufacturing, general contracting and technical consultation, product inspection and testing, water conservancy and hydropower engineering/equipment supervision and other businesses. It has made outstanding achievements in many water conservancy and electric power projects, especially in the field of low-water head power station units. Through the combination of technology and productivity, the company has formed a one-stop service system of R&D, design, manufacturing and installation. The launch of the project management system has brought Jianghe Hydro-Electric a systematic management of the entire project process and improved operational efficiency.

Specific needs
Jianghe Hydro-Electric is mainly engaged in the design and manufacture of hydropower generating units. Many projects are large-scale and have long production cycles, so it is difficult to allocate production resources. Previously, the enterprise used MS Project to associate projects, but it was hard to follow up on the project progress and material procurement and required a lot of human resources to monitor the project. Thus, the management efficiency was low.

What is more, it is hard to know the utilization of resources (including machine tools, team members, and auxiliary equipment in each production process) and find project resource conflicts through MS Project. This increases the difficulty of enterprise project management.

Solution
Due to the low efficiency of the manual management mode, Jianghe Hydro-Electric has certain difficulties in the real-time grasp of project progress, resource allocation and material procurement. 3. Related material procurement process, integrated management of the whole process of the project. PPM embeds the procurement management process, and supports supplier management, electronic bidding and procurement management at the project level. Jianghe Hydro-Electric can simultaneously manage purchase requirements, purchase orders, purchase contracts, etc. in the project management system. Buyers enter the project to add purchase orders, register receipts and submit them to the quality inspection department for quality inspection and the warehouse for confirmation. The warehouse arranges the delivery to the construction site according to the final project material delivery list given by the dispatcher.
